FAR WEST/SWUSY WINTER CONVENTION 2023
Far West and SWUSY will be hosting two simultaneous conventions for Gesher USY (6th-8th grade) and USY (9th-12th grade) at Camp Ramah in Ojai. The programming for both weekends will be done separately at camp as well as most of the services. All meals will be together.
How and when do we get to Convention? Bus transportation will be provided from a handful of locations throughout Southern California. Timing will be based on the location’s distance to Camp Ramah. The weekend will start on Friday January 20th at 3pm and end on Sunday January 22nd at 1pm.
What if I am outside of California? Bus transportation will be provided from LAX and Burbank airports. Flights on Friday January 20th must arrive no later than 11:30am. Flights on Sunday must depart no earlier than 5:30pm. Any transportation for flights booked after 11:30 on Friday and before 5:30pm on Sunday will be the responsibility of the participant.
Where will I stay at Camp Ramah? All participants will be staying in cabins. There are 8 bunks beds for up to 16 participants in each bunk. There will also be a minimum of 2 adult staff per bunk staying in a separate staff sleeping area. All participants will be required to bring their own sleeping bag and pillow. Participants will have the opportunity to request roommates upon registration. All cabins are equipped with heating and bathrooms. Gesher USYers (6th-8th) grade will be bunked separately from the USYers (9th-12th grade)
What will we do at the weekend? The weekend will be filled with time to get to know other teens, meals and snacks, social action activities, a fun Saturday night program and many more special surprises.
What about COVID? All participants and staff are required to submit a negative rapid test 24 hours in advance of the weekend and a second rapid test the morning of the weekend in order to be allowed at Camp Ramah. These can be at-home tests.
