The Midbar USY Community (AZ, NV, CO, UT) is hosting the Far West Leadership Training Institue of 2026

 

Who is going?

This Far West Leadership Training Institute (LTI) is open to all of USY. We are sure to see our Far West friends, Lower Mainland friends, and New Frontier friends. We are inviting all Chapter boards, teen leaders, and future leaders. If you are interested in great programming, fun activites, an awesome Saturday night, traditional and creative services options and more, this is the convention for you. This programming is leadership focused, developed by your Far West Community Board Members, and led by your Far West Community Board Members.

Pricing?

The early bird price for this convention is $324, after 9/18 the price will go up to $379. 

For those flying you will recieve $100 off. This will come off of the registration cost once you complete your paperwork. If you are traveling from California a bus fee of $250 is included in your registration (unless otherwise specified by your youth director). If you are taking a bus from the airport or within Arizona your travel fee of $115 will be included in your registration.

When registering: 

Please note, as this is the first convention of the 26-27 year, when you go into the registration platform, you will need to either create your account or review and confirm your information forms, then you will be able to add convention to your chart.

TRAVEL OVERVIEW:

USY will be proving bus transportation from the LA Area, SD/OC Area and from the Phoenix airport. Depending on where your travel starts and ends, you may also need to purchase an airline ticket. Please read through the below information to make sure you have all the info you will need. Please note that there will be an added fee based on the transportation selected. 
 

Far West Board Members only:
For those who are on the Community Boards please fly in to Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport by 6pm on Thursday Oct 15th. If you are from LA or SD/OC you will take the bus home with everyone. If you are from CO, please book a flight with the same parameters for everyone else on Sunday.

BUSSES

LA Area - $250 additional

There will be a bus provided from a few stops (TBD) in the LA Area to LTI and back. Please note that the bus will be leaving early on Friday (around 7am) and return back late on Sunday (around 9pm)

SD/OC - $250 additional

There will be a bus provided from a stop in San Diego as well as a stop in Orange County to LTI and back. Please note that the bus will be leaving early on Friday (around 7am) and return back late on Sunday (around 9pm)

 

FLIGHTS

Flights are purchased individually. Enter flight information in your registration. Consult with your Youth Director to find when others in your area are flying.

Flying in from outside of LA and SD/OC or Arizona locals - $115 additional

Please fly into Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport no later than 12:00pm on Friday October 16th. Please book flights to go home no earlier then 5:00pm on Sunday Oct 18th. USY will provide transportation to and from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.
If you are local, please drop off at the airport (location to be given closer to LTI) no later then 12:00pm and pick up will be at appx 3:00pm.

Where will I stay at Convention?

We will be at the amazing Camp Stein in Prescott Arizona. This is up in the mountains so prepare for cooler AZ weather, and higher elevation.

What will we do at the weekend?

Throughout the weekend, we will celebrate Shabbat, participate in traditional and alternative services options, enjoy leadership programming sessions, an amazing Saturday Night program, and a great time with friends.​

What about food?

Delicious Kosher meals will be provided throughout the weekend.

What about bedding?

As this is a camp, you will be sleeping in bunkbeds. You will need to bring a sleeping bag or linens, a pillow, and a towel. If you would prefer, you can choose to add the linens package (without the towel) to your registration for $45.
